Zoning/Planning
With Lou’s Leadership Plain Township’s
future is headed in the right direction.
Louis Giavasis was a leader in helping Plain Township develop its current master plan, the zoning manual and policies to accommodate for controlled growth. This regulates land use, prevents land-use conflict and allows residential and commercial growth to occur in a controlled manner while contolling density. Louis and the Board of Trustees are working with all departments to update our master plan to address Plain Townships needs for the next 10 years.
“I am proud that Plain Township has implemented over 95% of its current master plan, but our work is not done and we are planning for the next 10 years. Plain has always budgeted conservatively, but In this economic downturn we must make sure our residents continue to receive level of services they expect and that we do not outgrow their ability to sustain them. Through continued planning and sound fiscal budgeting, we must make sure that future development is done properly and in a way that it does not become a burden on our taxpayers and infrastructure. We must continue to work with our neighboring communities to find more ways to share services and enter into more collaborative agreements that will continue to make Plain Township the safest and most affordable place to live in Stark County.” – Lou Giavasis
