Under the Leadership of Louis, our Fire & Rescue has grown with our community and has made it safer!

Plain Township now has 4 fulltime 24 hour manned stations that protect our family and properties. The Plain Township Fire and Rescue services are touted as one of the best Stark County has to offer.

Plain Fire and Rescue Mission:
Plain Township Fire & Rescue provides the best fire, emergency medical, and public life safety education services in Stark County that the citizens and visitors of our community deserve.   We will strive to minimize illness and injury, loss of life and property, and protect the environment from fire, destruction, or disaster.   We will accomplish this through training, education, fitness, technology, compassion, leadership, suppression, rescue, and team performance.

Services provided to our residents:

911 Response
With an average response time of 4 minutes in Plain Township, emergency assistance is just a phone call away through our 9-1-1 service.   When your call is received, we will dispatch and advanced life support (ALS) medic, or fire engine, depending on the type of call.

Emergency Medical Services
Plain Township Fire & Rescue provides emergency medical services for its residents.   Plain Fire & Rescue is staffed by full time Paramedics and part time Personnel, and is equipped to handle any medical emergency from cut fingers to cardiac arrest.   Our paramedics are trained in advanced cardiac life support, basic trauma life support and participate in continuing education year round.

Plain Township Fire & Rescue Medic Units are equipped with cardiac monitor/defibrillator/pacemaker.   Emergency medical equipment to deal with special situations such as airway problems, medications, pediatric patients and trauma are also on board.

Medical procedures performed by the fire medics are guided by Stark County Standing Orders.

Fire Suppression
Plain Township Fire & Rescue provides fire suppression in many different ways.   While the big red fire engine comes to mind immediately, the best defense against fire is to prevent it.   On a daily basis, Plain Fire & Rescue works with local businesses and residents on fire code enforcement.   The Fire Prevention Bureau provides awareness of fire hazards and the Fire Prevention Bureau investigates all fires.

Water Rescue and Rope Rescue
Plain Township Fire & Rescue has a Water Rescue & Rope Rescue Team.   The Water Rescue Team has been trained in basic water rescue and trains year round.   Plain Fire & Rescue has a water rescue truck and boat that are used in training and in an emergency.   The Rope Rescue members have been trained in rope rescue, and have various equipment for rope rescue.

Public Education
Currently, we have active programs in the Plain Local Schools for grades pre-school through 3, also in the high school.   The Fire Prevention Bureau offers classes on fire safety and injury prevention for residents of all ages.   Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) classes are also available. Fire and home safety tips are available for residents.   The Bureau also participates in Safety City.  If you or your organizations are interested in any of these programs, please call the fire office at (330) 492-4089.
