Township Parks & Recreation PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Under the Leadership of Louis Giavasis, our Parks & Recreation Dept. operates completely without Property Tax Dollars

Plain Township did not have a single developed Park in 1993 when Louis Giavasis was first elected. Today, Plain Township has three Parks that are self-funded and accessible to everyone in our community that offer 40 separate programs for individuals to enjoy from Pre-school to our Senior Citizens.  The Plain Township Parks and Recreation Department has three outdoor shelters available for public use, a fourth will be constructed soon at the NEW Schneider Street Park across from the GlenOak Community Campus.

All three Parks were purchased, developed and are operated without using any Plain Township Tax Dollars.  Additionally, all picnic shelters, Play-Ground equipment, basketball equipment, tennis courts, walking tracks and public restroom facilities were constructed without Property Tax Dollars. This was accomplished by research and securing grants and the generous donations from the Plain Township Rotary.
